> SEAP-IAP and Palex collaborate on the first digital initiative for QA in pathology
Palex Medical collaborates with the Spanish Society of Anatomical Pathology (SEAP-IAP) in the implementation of the first digital initiative for a Quality Assurance program in pathology.
The SEAP-IAP Quality Assurance Program in pathology, started more than 15 years ago and has been recognized internationally as one of the most comprehensive, starts a digital transformation with Palex Medical project to digitize histological preparations.
The goal of this program is to promote and spread quality in anatomical pathology, helping to continuously improve the quality of the techniques on which the daily diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of patients are based. The project includes modules for surgical diagnosis, cytological screening, general immunohistochemistry, hematopathology, breast pathology, and biomarkers such as HER2, ALK, N-K-RAS, BRAF, EGFR, HPV and PDL1.
This digital transformation will help the participating pathology laboratories to digitize images of complete histological preparations using high-resolution scanners from 3DHISTECH. Allowing the comparison and validation of their results, improving the workflow, the speed, the effectiveness of the program modules and offering the ability to participants and evaluators to immediately contrast diagnoses from different parts of the world to improve the quality of the diagnosis in pathology.
