> Home haemodialysis: Marathon of informative conferences for renal patients
Palex Medical participated again on March 9 in the day of the World Kidney Day organized by ALCER Granada that took place in the Faculty of Medicine.
The purpose of the session was to promote knowledge on the progress of the treatment of kidney disease, promoting the responsible participation of the patient in those decisions that concern their treatment. At the same time providing a platform of information, encounter and communication between professionals and renal patients.
The session was divided into two different blocks. During the first one, the new preventive plan for
autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (CRPAD) was discussed by Mrs. Aurora Valenzuela, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Mr. Higinio Almagro, Health Delegate of Granada and Dr. Ana Isabel Morales, nephrologist of the Hospitalario de Granada Complex.
The second block aimed to present the latest proposal in portable home hemodialysis. This part counted on the presence of Dra. María José Espigares, nephrologist at the Virgen de las Nieves Hospital in Granada, who presented the technology for HDD;and on the presence of Ruth Molina, nephrology expert nurse, who presented the impact of the new technologies in the daily life of patients.
Finally, the block was closed with the experience of a patient currently treated by this technique, who also commented the added value offered by the Palex HDD program.
As in previous occasions, the day was a resounding success and gathered more than 50 attendees!
