> Bone Marrow Autologous Concentrate in Cardiology

5/4/2011

A study published by R. G. Turan et al. (December 2010) proves that intracoronary transplantation of autologous freshly isolated BMC leds to a significant reduction of infarct size and an increase of Global Ejection Fraction.

The technology of isolation and concentration of Stem Cells, which sells Harvest Technologies and which already has a proven effectiveness in numerous studies in Orthopedic and Vascular Surgery, has finally obtained clear and significant results in the field of Cardiology, although there is still a long way to go due to the complexity of the cardiac tissue.

Many studies have been focused on demonstrating the remodeling of the myocardium and recently Bergmann at al. in Evidence for Cardiomyocyte Renewal has been able to observe that almost half of the cardiomyocyte are renewed throughout life.

The study published by R. G. Turan et al., including 56 patients, randomized and with control group, analyzes the results of anterograde intracoronary injection of up to 10ml of Concentrated autologous stem cells through a catheter and with a Balloon dilatation up to 3 minutes.

Results at 12 month: Increase EF (%), decreased infarct area (%), increased speed movement wall, improved NYHA classification, etc.
